At Keep Reel, we believe your media consumption habits are your own business. Our application is built on a foundation of total privacy and local-first data management.
All data you input into the app—including your movie and TV collections, watched history, personal notes, and custom artwork—is stored exclusively on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. We do not maintain any external servers to host, store, or process your personal information.
Keep Reel does not require any registration, email address, or user account to function. Since there is no account, there is no identity linked to the data on your device.
If you choose to enable iCloud Sync, your data is transmitted directly to your personal Apple iCloud storage. This process is encrypted and managed entirely by Apple; we never have access to your iCloud credentials or the data stored within your private container.
Our app fetches media metadata from The Movie Database (TMDB). These requests are anonymous and do not include any personally identifiable information about you.
Because we do not collect any data, there is no database for us to leak or share. Your data's security is as strong as the security of your physical device and your personal iCloud account.
